SPUNLACE UNIT
The hydroentanglement unit reinforces the strength of nonwovens by entangling fibers.
The hydroentanglement unit, also known as the spunlace unit, can be used on single- or double-layer fabrics. Very fine, high-pressure water jets are directed at the sheet, mechanically entangling the fibers. Drainage elements control the moisture content of the sheet at the end of the hydroentanglement process.
The hydroentanglement process can impart textile-like properties to a nonwoven sheet (softness, drape and volume) and increase the sheet’s strength and elongation.
